Teen Dating Violence Awareness Campaign
1 in 3 teens experiences dating violence. Awareness is the first step to prevention.

Recognizing the Signs

Teen dating violence can take many forms, including emotional, physical, and digital abuse. Warning signs include:

  • Unexplained injuries or making excuses for bruises
  • Becoming withdrawn from friends and family
  • A partner controlling their social media, phone, or activities
  • Sudden drops in grades, mood changes, or loss of confidence

What to Do If You Recognize These Signs

  • Encourage open, non-judgmental conversations
  • Offer support and resources without pressuring them to leave
  • Direct them to organizations like Fort Bend Women's Center for help
  • Call a trusted adult, school counselor, or local hotline if safety is a concern
